Most of what I have said in Ritual Overkill refers to actual events between the Mojave Indian tribe and real world Pacific Gas & Electric of California (PG&E), but I have taken literary license with the name (California Gas & Electric; CG&E) and the dates involved to make these matters conform to other key parts of the story.
